I received a Email from a global smart street light manufacture for PIR test based on IEC 63180.
1. Can Fresnel Factory do all three tests from IEC 63180: Radial Motion, Tangential Motion, and Boundary Area?
--> Yes, we can conduct the test according to IEC63180, except 7.4 minor motion detection.
You might talk about A: Idealized boundary tangential large movements in Fig 17 in the IEC63180 document?
2. If the Radial Motion is not working currently, will it be working soon? The Radial Motion test would be an important result for A company.
--> The radial motion itself is working currently. The problem is recording the detected points(or time). Currently, it is manually recorded, so it has tolerance. It will be enhanced by end of this year.
3. If A company wants to test detection area larger than 22m, can Fresnel Factory mount the DUT in some location which is not the center of the room? For example, move the detector to one side of the room and test for radial motion starting 40m from the detector.
--> Our automated facility can test 44 diameters as maximum for ceiling-mounted type. PIR Detection unit installed center of 44 diameters.
4. Once you would have a unit in hand, how long do you estimate it would take to complete the testing with your new testing equipment?
--> Typically a week. But A company case will be longer than a week, since the test resolution is double time higher than the IEC standard, and the tested area is larger than other detectors.
